My cell phone is broken, so I missed Carlos’ calls this afternoon and his visit to Penn (and who really knows what else?). We met up, though, for an evening of Italian short films and a late dinner at L’Oca, which was jam packed with happy people.
We shared three dishes: polenta with pan seared scallops, trofie with mushrooms, and boar with blueberry sauce. The trofie were served with wild mushrooms, asiago cheese and a tiny bit of wilted arugula. Fabulous. Though I have been eating out all week (no kidding), this was the first dish that created a genuine excitement: perfect textures imparting earthy fall flavors … I wish that Luca would teach me how to cook this (and that the restaurant had better light for my photos).
