Piemontese dinner and wine at Osteria

So I got an email tonight from Open Table about a special dinner at Osteria celebrating Piemontese food and wine. All-inclusive $150 a pop for five courses of Piemontese pleasure. Check out the menu as it appeared in the email attachment:

Veal carpaccio with warm truffle vinaigrette
-Broglia “La Meirana” Gavi

“Tonno” di coniglio
rabbit poached in olive oil with borlotti bean salad
Parusso, Sauvignon Blanc

Gnocchi alla bava
Agnolotti di spinaci
-Enzo Boglietti, “Tiglineri” Dolcetto d’Alba

Barolo braised beef shank with soft polenta
-Sori Paitin Barbaresco from magnum

Bonet with amaretti and rum
Zabaione with hazelnut biscotti
-Banfi, Brachetto D’Aqui

If interested, call 215-763-0920 for info and reservations.

Promise to write more about bonèt – a classic almond/chocolate ‘pudding’ – soon.
