Carla and Alberto arrived this evening from Torino! Hurray! What do you cook for one of the best cooks you know?
Something American? Nah, way too difficult to come up with a menu. Besides, after a long flight and the fuso orario (jet lag), how hungry would they be? For dinner, I went with the très simple: chicken breasts sauteed with sage leaves and a tossed salad (Carla dressed it). I baked a loaf of challah as we were catching up, then threw in the apple-cranberry crisp we ate for dessert. Everything was perfect!
