While picking up some cookie-making supplies this evening, a whole wheat nan caught my eye. I grabbed it and a tomato and came back to bake a pizza with fridge fare: Zamorrano, Comté and Parmigiano Reggiano, a thin slice of red onion and garden basil leaves from my freezer. Very tasty combo! Would much rather eat this than what I’d get at the local pizza shop.
Everyone in town is buzzing about the impending snowstorm slated to arrive in the wee hours. Weekend snowstorms are typically most welcome, but I’m planning to hop on an 8 am train to DC tomorrow morning. Am questioning the wisdom of going out during what the city has already declared a snow emergency, but trying to focus on the destination: Rich and Eric’s holiday dinner party. I’ve been looking forward to hanging out in the kitchen with them, and meeting the interesting people they’ll gather. Wish me luck.
